Green Hill's volleyball season ended Thursday, Oct. 15, when Franklin swept the Hawks 3-0 in the Class AAA sectional at Franklin.

The loss closed a postseason run that included a district championship and a five-set region final against Station Camp. Franklin, the Region 5-AAA champion, earned its sixth state tournament appearance in school history, Main Street Media reported.

Franklin entered the match on a 22-game winning streak, according to the Williamson Herald. The Admirals' only loss this season was a 2-0 setback in late August against Kentucky's No. 6 team, St. Henry. Junior hitter Ellyson Fogle and Grace Caroline Steih led the Franklin attack in the region final, with district MVP Emmy Garner running the offense at setter.

The Franklin High athletics account posted on X that the Admirals won one set 25-7 on their way to the sweep.

The Hawks' October started strong. Green Hill captured the District 12-AAA title with a 25-22, 25-15, 25-22 sweep of Station Camp at Portland, according to Yahoo Sports. Maddie Long was named tournament MVP as the Hawks improved to 22-8.

On Tuesday, Oct. 13, Green Hill hosted the Region 6-AAA tournament and beat James Lawson 3-0 (25-12, 26-24, 25-16) in the semifinal. Green Hill forced a fifth set in the region final, but Station Camp held on for a 3-2 win (27-25, 25-21, 20-25, 22-25, 15-11), as we reported that day. The loss sent Green Hill to Franklin as the region runner-up.

Seventh-year coach Michelle Plummer rebuilt the roster after graduating four key contributors from a 2025 squad that set a school record for single-season winning percentage at .848. Seniors Amelia Parker and Ainsley Booher took over the two-setter offense. Upperclassmen Gia Faccadio and Taylee Osburne filled gaps left by departed starters. Returning all-county standouts Long, Julia Cleveland and senior middle hitter Tatum Crouch anchored the lineup.

"It's been fun watching them step into that leadership role and take ownership of the team," Plummer said in a September profile by Main Street Media, describing how last year's juniors embraced bigger roles.

Crouch added back-row duties this fall after previously subbing out during her rotation. She drew college interest from Lincoln Memorial, Trevecca and Converse, according to Main Street Media's September report.
