Green Hill travels to No. 9 Lebanon on Friday, Oct. 16, needing a win to stay in the Region 4-6A championship picture.
The Hawks (5-2, 1-1 region) will face a Blue Devils squad ranked No. 9 in the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Class 6A poll. Lebanon (6-1, 2-0) is the only team in Region 4-6A without a region loss.
Green Hill head coach Josh Crouch made the stakes clear after his team's 48-0 Senior Day shutout of Glencliff on Thursday, Oct. 1.
"(Lebanon) will be the biggest test for us all year," Crouch told the Lebanon Democrat.
The Hawks enter the matchup riding momentum from that Glencliff rout. Green Hill piled up 412 yards of offense and 17 first downs while holding the Colts to 25 total yards and a single first down. Senior Kofi Osei-Yeboah led the ground game with 92 yards on 11 carries. Quarterback Seth Frankenfield completed 6 of 9 passes for 132 yards before giving way at halftime.
Green Hill lost 36 seniors from last year's Region 4-6A championship team. Still, the Hawks have rattled off wins over Beech and Ravenwood and claimed their first region victory with a 21-7 win over Cookeville on Sept. 25. Green Hill scored 21 unanswered points and forced three turnovers in that game.
Lebanon presents a different challenge.
The Blue Devils shut out Wilson Central 34-0 behind running back Gyan Ezeta, who rushed for 241 yards and four touchdowns, Main Street Media reported. Ezeta, a former Region 4-6A Offensive Player of the Year, has moved into second place on Lebanon's modern-era career scoring list.
Quarterback Nate Dye, a Station Camp transfer, gives Lebanon a passing threat to complement Ezeta. Dye completed 10 of 12 passes for 259 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-14 win over Station Camp on Sept. 19. Senior captain Amaure Manier, a Division I prospect, caught three passes for 150 yards and two scores in that game. Arkansas State commit Gavin Gregory returned a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown.
Head coach Chuck Gentry has tied Mark Medley atop Lebanon's career wins list with 64 victories, according to Main Street Media's David Wilson.
Green Hill owns the recent series edge. The Hawks won 22-15 at home on Oct. 17, 2025, and 52-28 on Sept. 20, 2024. Lebanon's last win in the series came Sept. 15, 2023, a 31-21 result.
The game kicks off at Lebanon's Clifton Tribble Field/Danny Watkins Stadium. After the Lebanon trip, Green Hill hosts Wilson Central on Friday, Oct. 23, and Mt. Juliet on Friday, Oct. 30, to close the regular season.
