No Friday night lights Oct. 9 for Mt. Juliet, Green Hill or Wilson Central.
All three programs have open dates as fall break pauses the season, according to the TSSAA schedule published by Wilson County Source. Every Region 4-6A team is off, setting up a three-game sprint to the finish starting Friday, Oct. 16.
Where things stand
The Lebanon Democrat's standings after Week 7 show Lebanon on top at 2-0 in region play and 6-1 overall. Gallatin sits second at 2-1 (6-1). Green Hill and Mt. Juliet are both 1-1 in region, with the Hawks at 5-2 overall and the Golden Bears at 4-3. Cookeville is 1-2 (2-5), and Wilson Central remains winless at 0-2 (0-7).
The break is well-timed.
Green Hill rolled into it on a high note, beating Glencliff 48-0 on Friday, Oct. 2. Senior Kofi Osei-Yeboah came off the bench for a game-high 92 yards on 11 carries, and quarterback Seth Frankenfield completed 6 of 9 passes for 132 yards before being rested at halftime, the Lebanon Democrat reported. Marshall commitment Will Butler scored the first touchdown on a 4-yard wildcat run.
Mt. Juliet topped Gallatin 26-10 the same night, moving to 4-3 overall and evening its region record at 1-1.
Wilson Central fell to Lebanon 34-0, dropping to 0-7. The Wildcats are in their first season under head coach Josh Knipfel, according to Main Street Media of Tennessee.
The game to watch: Green Hill at Lebanon, Oct. 16
The marquee matchup when play resumes is Green Hill traveling to Lebanon's Danny Watkins Stadium on Friday, Oct. 16. The defending Region 4-6A champion Hawks face a Blue Devils squad sitting at 6-1 overall.
Green Hill head coach Josh Crouch told the Lebanon Democrat that Lebanon "will be the biggest test for us all year."
A Green Hill win would pull the Hawks even with Lebanon atop the region. A loss would leave them needing help in the final two weeks. Green Hill beat Lebanon 22-15 in last year's meeting at Green Hill on Oct. 17, 2025, according to CoachT.com.
What's ahead
Green Hill's final three games are all region contests: at Lebanon on Oct. 16, home against Wilson Central on Oct. 23 and home against Mt. Juliet on Oct. 30. Mt. Juliet's and Wilson Central's full remaining schedules were not available in published sources as of Thursday, Oct. 8.
