Mt. Juliet's Region 4-6A home game against Gallatin kicks off a day early. The Golden Bears and the Green Wave will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Roger Perry Field instead of the originally scheduled Friday night.
David Wilson, sports editor for Main Street Preps, wrote on X on Tuesday, Sept. 29, that "Gallatin and Mt. Juliet have moved their Region 4-6A game from Friday to Thursday due to impending weather." The Mt. Juliet football program's official account confirmed the change the same day. No specific forecast details were given.
The Golden Bears enter at 3-3 after winning two straight. Mt. Juliet started the season 1-3, including a 28-7 loss to Lebanon in Week 4. Head coach Trey Perry's squad turned things around with a 49-14 road win over Jefferson County in Week 5 and a 34-12 victory over Clarksville Northeast on Friday, Sept. 25, according to Wilson County Source.
Gallatin is 6-0.
The Green Wave opened the year with their first 4-0 start since 2020, according to a Main Street Preps preview published before Week 5. Head coach Michael Stroup's program then opened Region 4-6A play with a 21-14 win over Cookeville. Gallatin followed that with a 23-21 victory over Green Hill, according to the Lebanon Democrat, and a 31-28 win over Station Camp on Sept. 25.
Thursday's contest carries region implications for both squads. It is one of two Wilson County area games moved up this week. The Week 7 schedule also lists Green Hill hosting Glencliff on Thursday, Oct. 1. Lebanon travels to Wilson Central on Friday, Oct. 2, as originally scheduled.
