Wilson County voters can start casting ballots Wednesday, Oct. 14, at four early voting sites, including the Mt. Juliet Community Center on Charlie Daniels Parkway.

Early voting for the Tuesday, Nov. 3, State and Federal General Election runs through Thursday, Oct. 29, according to the Wilson County Election Commission. All four locations are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The four sites are:

  • Election Commission Office, 230 East Gay St., Lebanon
  • Mt. Juliet Community Center, 1075 Charlie Daniels Pkwy., Mt. Juliet
  • Gladeville Community Center, 95 McCreary Road
  • Watertown Community Center, 8630 Sparta Pike

Any registered county voter can cast a ballot at any of the four locations.

The Nov. 3 ballot carries races for governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House and Tennessee General Assembly seats, WSMV reported. Mt. Juliet voters will also see a Home Rule referendum asking whether the city should repeal its Home Rule status. Fox 17 reported that a "yes" vote would allow the state Legislature to consider city-specific legislation affecting Mt. Juliet, while a "no" vote would keep the current structure. The question does not create a new tax or change day-to-day city services.

Three proposed amendments to the Tennessee Constitution are also on the ballot: Amendment No. 1 on bail reform, Amendment No. 2 on banning a state property tax and Amendment No. 3 on crime victims' rights.

Wilson County Administrator of Elections Tammy Smith runs the county's elections. After the Aug. 6 general election, Smith said in an Aug. 13 statement that a post-election hand count "reinforces the integrity of elections in Wilson County." In that election, more than half of the 30,782 total ballots were early votes, with 17,467 cast before Election Day, according to unofficial results from the Election Commission.

Voters must bring a valid photo ID. Acceptable forms include a Tennessee driver's license, a state-issued photo ID or a federal government-issued photo ID, including an expired ID.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Saturday, Oct. 24. Voter registration for this election closed Monday, Oct. 5.

On Election Day, voters who did not vote early may cast ballots at any of 18 vote centers throughout the county. Sample ballots are available at wilsontnvotes.gov. The Election Commission can be reached at 615-444-0216.
