Wilson County Youth Lacrosse will hold two free clinics for kids in grades 1 through 8 at Green Hill Church in Mt. Juliet on Saturday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 14.
Both "Try Lacrosse" sessions run from 10 to 11:30 a.m., though the organization's website notes those times are tentative. Boys and girls are welcome. No experience or equipment is needed.
Coaches will teach catching, throwing and scooping ground balls, then move players into games, according to the organization. Registration is required so organizers can prepare enough coaches and gear. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch.
The volunteer-run nonprofit plans to launch league play in spring 2027 for grades 1 through 8, according to its homepage. The first year will focus on boys' lacrosse, but girls can join on co-ed teams.
The organization is still securing field space in west Wilson County for league play and asks anyone with leads to email [email protected].
Families can register for one or both clinic sessions at wclax.org/trylax.
