Mt. Juliet High School and Stoner Creek Elementary will not accept transfer students for the 2027-28 school year. Both schools exceed 90% capacity, according to Wilson County Schools' open enrollment page.

The district's 30-day application window opens Sunday, Nov. 1 and closes Tuesday, Dec. 1. Parents and guardians who want a child to attend a school outside their assigned zone must apply during that period or wait until the next cycle.

Lebanon High School is also closed to transfers for the same capacity reason.

Green Hill High School, the closest open high school for many Mt. Juliet-area families, is accepting applications with 46 ninth-grade seats, 45 tenth-grade seats, 45 eleventh-grade seats and 45 twelfth-grade seats.

Wilson Central High School has fewer openings: 40 seats for ninth grade, 40 for tenth, 35 for eleventh and 34 for twelfth. Watertown High School has the most room, offering 49 ninth-grade seats, 50 each for tenth and eleventh grades and 45 for twelfth grade.

If more families apply than a school can accommodate, the district will hold a lottery at the Wilson County Board of Education Board Room. A date and time for any lottery have not been announced. All applicants will receive an email after the Dec. 1 deadline with the status of their application, according to the district.

Families who were previously approved for open enrollment and whose children are already attending their preferred school do not need to re-apply.

The application form is available on the district's open enrollment page. Families with questions can contact WCS Attendance Supervisor Tammy Crane through the district website.
