Mt. Juliet police officers will be at Ugly Bagel on Wednesday, Oct. 7, for a morning of conversation over coffee with anyone who walks in.
The Mt. Juliet Police Department announced the event on its official X account, inviting residents to join officers from 8 to 10 a.m. The department described it as a chance for coffee, conversation and community connection.
The gathering falls on National Coffee with a Cop Day, observed each year on the first Wednesday of October. The Hawthorne, California, Police Department started the program in 2011. The U.S. Department of Justice's COPS Office established the national day in 2016.
The department hosted a similar event on Aug. 27 at La Madeleine in Mt. Juliet.
Ugly Bagel is at 1913 N. Mt. Juliet Rd., Suite 101B.
