A speeding stop in Mt. Juliet on Tuesday, Oct. 13, ended with a passenger in custody on warrants from three Tennessee counties and new drug charges.

Mt. Juliet police officers stopped a vehicle traveling 80 mph in a 70 mph zone, according to the department's official X account. Officers ran the passenger's information and found the 46-year-old Goodlettsville man had active warrants out of Lawrence, Robertson and Maury counties. All three sets of warrants were tied to narcotics-related offenses.

A search turned up approximately one gram of methamphetamine and a glass pipe in the man's possession, the department said. He was taken into custody on the outstanding warrants and charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The department did not identify the man or the road where the stop occurred. No information was released about the driver or whether the driver faced any charges.

The arrest adds to a busy year for Mt. Juliet traffic enforcement. During the first six months of 2026, officers apprehended 342 wanted individuals, with 88% being non-residents of the city, according to a September Mt. Juliet Police Department news release.
