A haunted trail built on animatronic art rather than jump scares runs Friday and Saturday nights at Circle P Ranch in Mt. Juliet.

Raven's Hollow Haunted Woods, at 563 East Main St., is open Fridays and Saturdays through Saturday, Oct. 24, then nightly from Monday, Oct. 26, through Saturday, Oct. 31. The next scheduled night is Friday, Oct. 9. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. and close at 9:30 p.m. Adult admission is $18. Children ages 3 through 5 pay $8.

The attraction bills itself as gothic and atmospheric. Instead of costumed actors lunging from corners, visitors walk through animatronic tableaus created by Nashville artist Tim Davis and his company, DaVinci Works, according to the Wilson County Source.

No jump scares here.

The artist behind the trail

Davis runs DaVinci Works, an art and effects studio he renamed from Tim Davis Murals in 2020. He has more than 21 years of experience painting murals and has completed more than 350 across the United States and Canada, according to his LinkedIn profile. His client list includes the Johnny Cash Museum, the Patsy Cline Museum, Nudie's Honky Tonk and the Walt Disney Company, according to the DaVinci Works website. His Legends Corner Mural sits at the entrance of Lower Broadway near the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

The venue

Circle P Ranch, the property hosting Raven's Hollow, was founded by Rufus Page. The ranch sits on East Main Street on the outskirts of Mt. Juliet and was featured on Nashville Public Television's Tennessee Crossroads program in 2018.

A Facebook event page organized by Davis lists the attraction as family friendly.
