Chamberlain University will open its first Tennessee campus in Nashville's MetroCenter neighborhood on Jan. 4, 2027.

The campus at 2222 Rosa L. Parks Blvd. will offer a three-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program with day, evening and weekend classes, according to a Chamberlain announcement published Sept. 9. It is the 27th location nationwide for Chamberlain, which the university describes as the nation's largest school of nursing. Applications opened Sept. 9, with rolling admission up to six times a year.

Before a single student walks through the door, the university already has roots here. Chamberlain said 741 of its alumni live and work in the Nashville area, part of a nationwide network of more than 155,000 graduates. The university serves roughly 40,000 students across its campuses.

The workforce numbers driving the expansion come from Chamberlain's parent company. Covista, a publicly traded education company (NYSE: CVSA), published its Care Capacity Monitor 2026, a survey fielded by Gallup. That report found Tennessee had more than 187,000 healthcare vacancies last year, up nearly 34% from the prior year, against just 4,502 job seekers statewide. In Nashville specifically, Covista reported 16.3 open healthcare positions for every new healthcare graduate.

Amelia Manning, Chamberlain's president, said in the announcement that the Nashville campus responds to that gap. "We're proud to add capacity to the region so more people in the Nashville area can become the nurses their neighbors are counting on," Manning said.

Dr. Virginia Ruth Corey, dean of academic affairs for the Nashville campus, said she has worked in both patient care and education. Corey said Nashville's growth as a healthcare market requires graduates who can contribute immediately, and that the campus will pair flexible scheduling with hands-on clinical experience starting early in the program.

Students will train in an on-campus simulation center and complete clinical rotations with local health system partners, though Chamberlain did not name those partners. The university said the campus holds state-level approvals through the Tennessee Board of Nursing, though that approval has not been independently confirmed.
