Federal agents executed a search and arrest warrant at a rented home on War Admiral Drive in Mt. Juliet's Triple Crown subdivision early Tuesday, Oct. 27.
The FBI's Nashville Field Office confirmed the operation but has not disclosed who was arrested or what agents were seeking, WSMV reporter Sarah Allen reported. The agency referred questions to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Tennessee. That office had not released additional information as of Tuesday, WSMV reported.
Mt. Juliet Police confirmed the FBI was handling the operation.
Neighbors describe 6 a.m. operation
Neighbors told WSMV that four loud bangs woke them around 6 a.m. When they looked outside, dozens of federal officers surrounded the home.
One resident described hearing agents announce themselves before breaching the door.
"It was very loud. You could hear it from the back of the neighborhood, I am sure," the resident told WSMV.
Neighbors said the home had been rented, with multiple families living there over the past year. Residents told WSMV they were shocked to see the scale of the law enforcement presence. They described the Triple Crown subdivision as a place that feels safe and quiet, where that kind of activity was unusual.
Agents left by late morning
Law enforcement vehicles were still visible in the neighborhood before 10 a.m., according to WSMV video. Neighbors said agents left the area closer to 11 a.m.
Residents said they were told there was no immediate threat to people living nearby.
Additional information could come from the U.S. Attorney's Office as the federal case moves forward. The identity of the person arrested and the nature of the alleged crime remain unknown.
